White Suit to Wedding May be Fine





Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

I have a beautiful off-white cashmere blend suit (jacket and knee-length skirt) that I haven't been able to wear very often as I save it for special occasions. A coworker's wedding is coming up and I know that guests should not wear white dresses. But, would it be acceptable to wear a white suit?

If the bride will be wearing a fancy white dress, then female guests may wear a white suit, but add some color.

If you don't know what the bride will be wearing, it's best to steer clear of all white clothing if you are a wedding guest. To offset an all white look, you could wear a pastel colored blouse underneath the jacket, or add a scarf.
