Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

I received a wedding invite with a pre-stamped reply card. I don t know what to fill into the blank before the "of." Here is what the card looks like:

Mr/Mrs/Ms ____________________

______________of ____________will attend

The number of guests that can attend goes before the "of" and the number of guests actually invited goes after the "of." For example, if two people were invited, but only one could attend, then the card would read: "1 of 2 will attend." If both can attend, then it would state, "2 of 2 will attend."

Normally, the number before the "of" should not exceed the number after the "of."
