On Sale This Week at The Knot Wedding Shop

Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

When should I send the wedding gift? Should I send it before the wedding, or bring it to the wedding? Also, I don't know the bride, so should I send it to her mother's address which is where the response card was sent?

Signed,

Dilemma

Dear Dilemma,

It is always best to send the wedding gift to their home before the wedding and not bring it to the ceremony or reception. All gifts, including cash (checks), are best sent before the wedding.

Mail the gift to the address given on the response card, addressed to the bride-to-be. If the gift is mailed after the wedding, then address it to both the bride and groom.

When mailing, be sure to have the gift insured in case it gets damaged during shipping and to have a record that it was received.
