Shoes Need not Match Outfit Color





Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

I'm on a tight budget and have been asked to be the maid of honor for a simple wedding ceremony this summer. There will be no other bridesmaids. I have a light blue knee length skirt and jacket. Is it okay to wear a pastel suit? I don't have any blue shoes that match, it that okay?

A pastel suit would be fine. You don't need shoes that match. Shoes that are taupe or beige color are more complimentary and elongate and make the leg look longer and slimmer. Plus, taupe would go with many outfits, including black. If you don't already have taupe or beige shoes, then a light gray color shoe would look good with the blue suit, too
