Tank Top Fine for Winter Evening Function





Dear Dr. Dave & Dr. Dee,

Is it appropriate to wear a sleeveless top or tank top for an evening function during the winter months? Or, should the arms be covered? I also have a long sleeved velvet top with attached satin skirt. Which is best?

Dear Old Fashioned,

Winter evening functions are normally indoors with comfortable controlled temperature settings. So, unless you chill easily, then it's fine to wear a sleeveless top. You could also wear a light evening shawl or wrap to help cover your shoulders. However, a long sleeved velvet top would be lovely as well, so it's up to you.
