Strapless Dress Too Sexy for Wedding?





Dear Dr. Dave & Dr. Dee,

I was planning to wear a short strapless dress to my friend's wedding, but am having second thoughts. Another friend who is also going says that the dress is too sexy for a wedding. The dress is dark blue, comes to about two inches above my knee and is form-fitting, but not overly tight, and does not show any cleavage. Is the dress not appropriate?

Dear Dress distress,

If the dress is revealing enough for your friend to point out that it is not appropriate, then she may be right. For a wedding, the guest's attire should not detract from the bride's event. You could compromise, and wear the dress with an evening shawl or wrap.
