Addressing Envelope for The Queen

Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

How do I address an envelope for the Queen of England? Also, in the letter, should she be addressed as Your Royal Highness?

Signed,

Curious

Dear Curious,

According to the official web site of the British Monarchy (www.royal.gov.uk), letters are usually sent to the Queen's secretary and addressed: The Secretary to Her Majesty.

However, as all correspondence is sent first to the Queen's secretary, it would be fine to address the envelope: Her Majesty The Queen.

The address: Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA

If the sender is outside the United Kingdom, then be sure to add ENGLAND at the bottom of the address and the correct postage for overseas or international rate.

Also, your letter can begin one of three ways: Madam, Your Majesty, or Your Royal Highness. It's fine to close with a simple Yours sincerely,

The Queen can also be emailed at http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page3776.asp
