Bridal Luncheon Given To Thank Her Attendants

Dear Dr Dave and Dr. Dee,

A group of us have received an invitation to a bridal luncheon and are wondering if we are supposed to bring a gift. There was on indication one way or another.

Signed,

Wondering

Dear Wondering,

No, a gift for the bride is not necessary. The bride will give her attendants a gift.

Traditionally, a bridal luncheon is given by the bride to thank her attendants for their participation in the wedding. Instead of a lunch, the bride may have a breakfast to thank the ladies in her wedding party.

If you are not sure about whether to give a gift at any function, it is always fine to call and ask the host.
