House Warming Invitation Do Not Mention Gifts





Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

I am throwing a Going Away & House Warming Party for a friend. We want to say that no gift is required, but if you would like to help her with her new house, she needs items for her kitchen and the color she is using is hunter green. Should that be put on the invitations? If so, how should it be worded without sounding tacky?

A gift is never required for any occasion, so suggesting gift ideas in the invitation would not be appropriate. However, if friends ask, then you can mention that items are needed for her kitchen and that her color scheme is hunter green.
