Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

Do you need to write a thank you note for Christmas presents? I've always sent them for shower, wedding, and birthday gifts, but recently I've been questioning whether or not to send a thank you card for Christmas presents.

Yes, a thank you note should be sent for presents received at Christmas and would be appreciated. However, if the gift was given to you in person and you opened it in their presence, then verbal thanks is fine.
