I've been invited to an evening wedding and wonder if it's okay to wear a black dress? Are there any etiquette rules on taboo colors to wear at weddings?

These days, it's fine to wear black at a wedding held in the evening or during the day. Some brides even choose black as the color for their bridesmaids' dresses.

There aren't really any taboo colors for weddings. Although, guests should not wear all-white outfits so as not to compete with the bride. The mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom can coordinate their outfits and colors in order to not clash with the wedding colors.
