Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

My sister-in-law decided the day after her wedding that she no longer loved her new husband. Consequently, she got a divorce/separated when they returned from their honeymoon. Should my sister-in-law return the wedding and shower gifts?

Assuming your sister-in-law will be getting her marriage annulled, then yes, all wedding and shower gifts need to be returned. Gifts are returned if the wedding is canceled or annulled with a short note of thanks and explanation that the marriage was annulled.
