Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee,

My friend bought a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress that I just loved. So, I went to the department store to check out other Furstenberg wrap dresses. There were no dresses in my size 18 (my friend is a 10). The sales lady stated that Furstenberg does not come in my size. Are wrap dresses not appropriate for larger sized ladies?

Wrap jersey dresses can be flattering for all sizes of ladies. The wrap style can be adjusted to help create a waist especially if the fabric has spandex and is ruched. The skirt length is most attractive when it is just below the knee. A shoe with a moderate heel of about 2 inches also adds height to look taller and slimmer. The skirt should fall gently from the hips, not tight or clingy.

There are many beautiful wrap dresses made by other manufacturers that come in a wide range of sizes, so shop other brands. I do not know why Diane von Furstenberg does not offer dresses for larger women. You can check out her website and inquire at www.dvf.com
