Limiting when white can be worn during the season is an outmoded concept. It used to be that one was supposed to wear white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day (basically between the last Monday in May and first Monday of September). Then, "winter white" or off-white became the more accepted white-color for Fall or Winter clothing. Many fashion houses feature white in their Fall/Winter collections (see www.designerhistory.com). The First Lady, Laura Bush, wore a white suit during the Inauguration ceremony in January 2005. |
