Dear Dr. Dave and Dr. Dee, I always wear a pair of small diamond stud earrings everywhere I go. While shopping with my soon-to-be mother-in-law, she noticed my diamond earrings and told me nicely that I shouldn't wear diamonds in the daytime. Do you know if this is true? I have since taken off my earrings because I feel like I'm breaking some kind of etiquette code. Signed, Needs to Know Dear Needs to Know, Diamonds in the daytime were once looked upon as improper. But, that was a long time ago, and is an outdated concept. As long as the diamonds are not elaborate, then go ahead and wear them anytime and anywhere you like. |
